Exciting News: Architecture Team Chosen to Lead Phase Two Planning
The Process & Choice
After a competitive review of several incredible proposals, our diverse committee made its selection of who will lead the Physical Planning Portion of Phase Two for the Chattanooga Community Performing Arts Center feasibility study. The selection committee included representatives from every performing arts discipline, community members, and experts in architecture and large-scale project management. We’re excited to announce that they have chosen the South Carolina branch of the nationally-recognized architecture firm PBK and Theatre Consultants Collaborative (TCC).
Why This Team?
PBK brings their incredible work and their Southeastern roots, while TCC offers unmatched expertise in planning and equipping performing arts facilities across the country. Together, they bring a reputation for excellence and a proven ability to translate community needs into future-ready spaces.
Working in Tandem
They’ll be working side by side with Webb Mgmt, who will continue their role from Phase One of the Feasibility Study and lead the Business Planning portion of this phase. This integrated approach ensures that every design scenario—venues, rehearsal rooms, production shops—is evaluated against real-world operations, budgets, and sustainability.
What This Phase Is (and Isn’t)
Phase Two is about planning, not construction. We’re not breaking ground or producing final blueprints. Instead, this stage explores fit-for-purpose options, tests ideas, and develops realistic budgets—laying the foundation for a project that Chattanooga can sustain in the long term and make a multi-generational impact.
Community at the Center
From start to finish, performing arts organizations, performing artists, educators, and the broader community are at the heart of this process. To truly make an impact, every voice must be included—especially those from underrepresented communities.
If you’d like to participate, or if you know performing arts groups, community leaders, or educators who should be involved, please reach out. This is a project for everyone, and together we can shape a Chattanooga Community PAC that will serve generations to come.
