The Crucible

Seed Theatre Presents:

The Crucible

by Arthur Miller

Directed by Cassie Haley

ABOUT: In a town gripped by fear, suspicion becomes a weapon and truth is drowned by hysteria.

Seed Theatre brings Arthur Miller’s timeless masterpiece The Crucible to the stage — a searing drama set during the Salem witch trials that still echoes loudly today. When a group of young girls is caught dancing in the woods, whispers of witchcraft spread like wildfire through the puritanical town of Salem. As paranoia grows, neighbor turns against neighbor, and integrity is tested under the weight of mass panic.

At the center stands John Proctor, a flawed but principled man who must choose between saving his reputation or standing up for the truth — no matter the cost.

Originally written as an allegory for McCarthyism, The Crucible remains hauntingly relevant in an age where misinformation and fear can still ignite moral panic. This bold production explores the dangers of extremism, the fragility of justice, and the price of personal conviction.

Tense, gripping, and deeply human — The Crucible reminds us of how easily a society can lose its way when fear overtakes reason.
